SUNDAY SEPT 15th
12-5pm
at Blazing Star Herbal School (Conway MA)
(street address upon registration)
Join Tony(a) and special guest presenter Julia Agron for an afternoon of sensory plant immersion with Cannabis. During this session, you will be taught the dynamic process of sensory plant immersion as taught by Isla Burgess based on Participatory Science, a process which has its foundation in the work of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe ( 1749-1832). Plant immersions are also explored using a ‘Jungian Mandala’ template based on the work of C.G. Jung’s four ways of knowing – thinking, feeling, sensing, intuiting.
Plant Immersions offer a different way of seeing that bridges worlds and gives glimpses into other ways of being, or should we say, other being’s ways. During this workshop, we will sensorize* with cannabis – spending the whole workshop with the plant.
Following the dynamic sensory immersion process Julia will share from her wealth of experience addressing the following topics
Why does Cannabis present as a “magic fix” for such a wide range of ailments and conditions?
Why Whole Plant Medicine?
Concentrates from the traditional to the highly technical
Extraction, CO2 Extraction, Distillation
Methods of Consumption
Each participant will leave with a participatory sensory plant profile, and following the session will receive a follow-up email with exercises to deepen your practice well as a more traditional plant profile and some sample recipes.
This session is open to everyone OVER 21 YEARS of AGE whether novice, practitioner or educator. The dynamic group process will enable you to understand and work with plants at a deeper, vibrational level.
*Sensorize – to fully explore and experience a plant with all our senses“Individual phenomena must never be torn out of context. Stay with the phenomena, think within them, accede with your intentionality to their patterns, which will gradually open your thinking to an intuition of their structure.”
— Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
This article by at Natasha Myers Schumacher College "Exploring Goethean Science" really does a nice bob explaining the concepts. Herbalist Isla Burgess of New Zealand is really the only person I know who has brought this work to herbalism. She is how I was introduced to this work.
All about Julia Agron
Julia Agron has been a passionate cannabis advocate for over 20 years. During her time
working in a medical marijuana dispensary, she had the opportunity to see thousands of
patients find increased health and wellness through cannabis, and thousands of lives made
better and more full through safe, legal, and supported access to this unique plant medicine.
Since stepping away from working in a dispensary, Julia has enjoyed focusing her energies in
the cannabis space on events, community education and advocacy, as a Cannabis Consultant
and as the Coordinator for NOSHA, the Northeast Sustainable Hemp Association.
“My passions are cannabis, sustainable living, social justice, and my community. I believe these
things are all interconnected. We need a serious shift in how we live together, and on this
planet, and I see cannabis, in all her forms, as a vital part of creating that shift. I believe that
everything I've done in my life brings me here, now, to do this work.”
