9:30-10am   Drop of your young Herbalista! Make sure that they have a packed lunch, water and   appropriate   clothing and footwear for the day. A towel would also be handy. If your child    has a drum or a  rattle they may bring that too.

10:30-12:00pm Playshops Session 1

Choose between

    1)  Magic Potions with Dori Midnight: Come make your own magic potion for your heart's desire from elixirs made from flowers, crystals, trees, and special places. You will learn about the magical powers of different plants and stones and get to take home your own potion.

     2) Weave a world of plant wonder! (Weaving Crowns/ Wreaths into Dream Catchers) w/Angie Gregory Together we'll tune into the message of weeping willow as we interlace her branches into circular form.Hearing our own song we'll gather plants and flowers that we're drawn to and talk about the ways in which they can aid us on our journey. Threading them into our circle we'll have created a crown or wreath that we can draw from all year long. If time allows the option of turning them into dream catchers will further this hands-on project.

Spiritual Plant Bathing w/Venus Zephyr

 As we enter the season of Autumn we find ourselves among the last days of the beautiful  bounty of the natural world. With flowers, leaves and fresh plants we will gather the allies that the children are most called to and prepare a bathing blend that is sweet and fragrant for our young ones to enjoy. Plant Bathing is one of the most excellent ways of connecting children with the green world, through water, plants, sunlight and intentions we will create a meaningful ritual for our children as we enter the autumnal turning time.We will spend some quiet time talking and sitting with the sacred plants, singing and communing as we prepare the plant bath, and then frolicking as we immerse each other in taking the waters.

Children are encouraged to bring any flowers from their gardens, neighborhoods and doorsteps that might want to come along. 

Herbal Dream Pillows: w/ Brittany Wood Nickerson

Explore the fun and magic of dreaming with herbs.  Together we will each make an enchanted herbal dream pillow to help you sleep soundly, and have peaceful and inspiring dreams!

Teacher Bios:

Dori Midnight has been teaching Magical Arts, herbalism, and healing skills to kids and adults for a very long time. She has recently moved to Northampton from the San Francisco Bay Area, where she taught in public schools, juvenile hall, herbal programs, drop in centers, and ran a summer Fairy Camp. Dori also sees people for counseling and healing in a private practice.www.dorilandia.com

Brittany Wood Nickerson is an herbalist, cook and homesteader. She has a small farm in Amherst where she grows herbs, sees clients and teach classes in home herbalism.  She sells her locally sourced, handmade body products, Thyme Herbal, throughout the valley. 

Venus Zephyr is an Artist, Activist, Poet, Plant Spirit Practitioner, Herbalist  and  Mama of the sweetest baby girl Sela Jade. Angie Gregory has been immersed in the healing ways of our plant world for the past seven years. As a community herbalist she continues to keep the thread of connection between US and the plant world alive by creating and offering remedies to her community as well as organizing the Northampton Herbal Meet-up Group of 200 plant people and hosting monthly gatherings to harvest, create, and learn. She is also actively involved in seeing Grow Food Northampton create a vision of a community farm. As a mother and environmental enthusiast Angie helps others reduce their impact by operating an organic & fair-trade chemical-free diaper service out of her home in Northampton, Mother Herb Diaper Service.
